About The Position

As a Customer Service Associate at Lowe's, you provide friendly, professional customer service and help customers find products and services for their home improvement needs. You will assist with product selection and handling, merchandise organization and replenishment, and accurate order and delivery processing. Depending on the department and customer needs, you may prepare merchandise by tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds. You may also guide customers through shopping or checkout and cross-train in other store areas. Department placement depends on hiring needs and skillsets.

The role may involve working indoors and outdoors in varying weather and climate conditions, as well as exposure to noise and moving or shaking objects and equipment. Physical duties can include prolonged standing or sitting, and lifting merchandise according to Lowe's guidelines. Regular travel is not required, though occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores may be needed.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
• At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
• Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties.
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or over 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.

Nice To Haves

• At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
• Bilingual skills.
• Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers, answer questions, and deliver friendly and professional customer service.
• Assist customers with locating and handling merchandise.
• Down stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
• Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
• Cross-functionally train in other areas of the store to help deliver customer service.
• Prepare merchandise based on customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds.
• Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
