About The Position

The Sales Associate works in Longchamp’s Boutique Retail Store and is responsible for delivering customer service according to company standards, generating sales, merchandising, operating the POS register, supporting loss prevention, and following company policies and store standards. The role includes serving and advising customers, maintaining product knowledge, supporting store operations and merchandise replenishment, and accurately completing sales transactions. The position may involve travel between boutiques as needed for business reasons and requires the ability to work varied hours, days, evenings, weekends, or holidays as business dictates.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED, and a degree in Retail, Fashion, or a related field, or equivalent work experience and education.
More than three years of high-end retail, boutique, or sales-related work experience.
Understanding of inventory, customer sales experience, and merchandising.
Proficiency with Cegid transactions and register procedures.
Proficiency with the UPS System and shipment preparation and receiving.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
Familiarity with store operations.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with associates and customers.
Organized, self-starting, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision, including under stressful conditions.
Ability to process information and merchandise using computer and POS register systems.
Ability to read, count, and write accurately to complete documentation, and to read and understand work-related materials.
Ability to access all areas of the store, including the selling floor, stock area, and register area.
Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to run the store.
Ability to research and explore new marketplace trends.
Ability to work varied hours, days, evenings, weekends, or holidays as business dictates.
Ability to travel between boutiques as necessary for business reasons.
Ability to perform the physical demands of the role, including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, prolonged standing and walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive hand and wrist motions.
Ability to perform light work, exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently.
Close visual acuity, including color, depth perception, and field of vision, for computer work, reading, inspection, and related tasks.

Responsibilities

Generate and maximize sales by encouraging clients to purchase company products.
Maintain product knowledge and merchandise-care information; stay current on new items, customer service guidelines, and store policies.
Develop and maintain client books and keep records of sales.
Follow customer service procedures, including greeting etiquette, returns, exchanges, transfers, and loss prevention.
Greet, serve, and advise clients with friendly, outstanding customer service.
Gift-wrap and bag customer purchases.
Assist with mailings, answer phones, and handle phone orders.
Assist with floor moves, merchandising, displays, processing merchandise, and replenishment.
Participate in receiving and monitoring floor stock; stock and restock shelves, counters, and tables; and tag merchandise as needed.
Keep the sales floor clean and orderly and maintain high housekeeping standards.
Follow company policies, procedures, and practices.
Complete sales transactions accurately and efficiently and maintain proper cash and media accountabilities at POS registers.
Perform special projects and other duties assigned by management.
Perform Cegid transactions, including sales, returns, exchanges, item and customer lookups, CRM, reports, and opening and closing registers according to the Cegid Manual.
Prepare and send shipments, receive and check shipments, and use the UPS System.
