About The Position

Turner's Outdoorsman is seeking Sales Associates to assist Store Management and contribute to sales goals, customer satisfaction, and profitability growth. The role calls for a committed team player who supports the Turner’s brand and company culture and serves as a retail role model in attitude, appearance, communication, and customer service. The position involves customer service and sales, legally compliant firearms paperwork, merchandising and stock handling, and participation in promotions, events, training, and inventory tasks. Hours vary, overtime may be required, and occasional travel may be needed.

Requirements

High school graduate or GED required.
Fluent in English.
Legally eligible to work in a firearms environment.
Must be 21 years or older.
Ability to obtain a Certificate of Eligibility.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
Able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
Able to use both hands when handling a firearm.
Able to use a computer proficiently and learn new software programs.
Able to stand, sit, bend, and lift throughout a scheduled shift.

Nice To Haves

College graduate or some college.
Prior retail or sales experience and cash-handling experience.
Previous customer service experience.
Knowledge of hunting, fishing, or shooting sports.

Responsibilities

Greet all customers.
Execute required firearms paperwork within legal parameters.
Create customer orders.
Provide excellent customer service and demonstrate strong salesmanship.
Maintain constant awareness of firearm safety.
Assist with store merchandising changes.
Load and unload trucks.
Receive stock and merchandise.
Participate in promotions, sales, and events.
Fill customers’ fishing reels using special machines and knot-tying techniques, as needed.
Participate in inventory tasks, as needed.
Attend training seminars, including some off-site seminars.
Perform other duties as assigned.
