About The Position

The Sales Associate works in store operations and reports to Store Management. The role delivers excellent customer service and merchandise knowledge to support customer satisfaction in a dynamic retail setting. The associate is expected to remain proactive and engaged with customers, communicate effectively, demonstrate integrity, and contribute to a positive work culture and employee involvement while supporting change management efforts. The position handles freight, price changes and markdowns, register operations, customer transactions, housekeeping, safety procedures, and sales-floor merchandising. It also supports the Store Manager with loss-prevention procedures and performs other duties as assigned. The role requires sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-location retail environment; responsibilities may change based on business needs.

Requirements

Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
Ability to perform mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Process freight.
Assist with price changes and markdowns.
Balance the register according to company policy.
Bag merchandise efficiently during customer transactions.
Handle cash, checks, and credit cards correctly and according to company policy.
Obtain management approval when needed for returns, voids, and checks.
Perform assigned maintenance and housekeeping duties.
Provide customer service by greeting customers, following fitting-room policies, ringing customers up promptly, thanking them, and inviting them to return.
Follow all safety procedures.
Maintain a professional, neat appearance, including wearing a name tag.
Assist management with merchandising the sales floor according to stock levels.
Explain exchange and refund policies to customers after transactions.
Assist the Store Manager with loss-prevention procedures, including preventing shoplifting and cash losses, reporting theft or dishonesty, and following current operational policies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
