About The Position
As a Customer Service Associate at Lowe's, you provide friendly, professional service and help customers find products and services for their home improvement needs. You will answer questions, assist with product selection and handling, occasionally load merchandise, and help ensure customers' needs are met. Most of your time is spent listening to customers, answering questions, and organizing merchandise, with daily duties varying by department. Associates may work in Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Inside Garden, Hardware, Tools, Millwork, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, or Pro Services. This role does not require regular travel, though occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores may be needed. Work may involve both indoor and outdoor conditions, varying temperatures and moisture, noise, and moving or shaking objects and equipment. Associates must follow safe lifting guidelines; single lifts are limited to 75 pounds, team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed, and powered equipment should be used as required with proper training or assistance.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
- At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
- Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary for the job.
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or more than 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
Nice To Haves
- At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
- Bilingual skills.
- Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly and professional customer service.
- Help customers locate and handle merchandise.
- Down stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
- Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
- Cross-functionally train in other areas of the store to support customer service.
- Prepare merchandise according to customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds.
- Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
