About The Position

The Sales Associate works as part of a collaborative retail team, serves as a customer-facing representative of the store, and contributes to a positive and sustainable community impact. The role provides an opportunity to learn and develop while supporting store operations and career advancement. The position requires courteous customer service, accurate transactions and cash handling, timely placement and orderly presentation of merchandise, and general store upkeep.

Requirements

Ability to communicate effectively with customers and GGW associates.
Ability to provide exceptional customer service.
Ability to settle customer complaints.
Ability to perform basic math.
Ability to stand for prolonged periods, up to 7 hours per 8-hour shift.
Ability to bend and frequently lift up to 40 pounds.
Basic working knowledge of computer applications and the internet.

Nice To Haves

At least six months of previous work experience.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience working in a retail environment.
Excellent customer-service-related skills.
Working knowledge of a cash register.
Complete fluency in English and multilingual ability.

Responsibilities

Provide professional and courteous service to customers in the store, outside the store, and by phone.
Ensure merchandise is placed on the sales floor in a timely manner.
Ring up items accurately at the register.
Handle cash accurately, including making change and operating and maintaining the cash register, check and charge card machine, and calculator.
Maintain knowledge of merchandise and answer customer questions courteously and promptly.
Keep floor merchandise neat and orderly on racks, shelves, and in bins and hangers; assist customers with purchase selections.
Maintain a clean, professional appearance.
Keep the register area orderly and clean.
Maintain familiarity with store security procedures and exercise security practices when necessary.
Perform general housekeeping and store upkeep, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, wiping shelves, and dusting restrooms and dressing rooms.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
