About The Position
The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board is hiring permanent part-time Sales Associates, also described as Intermittent Liquor Store Clerks, for Fine Wine & Good Spirits stores. The role serves customers, supports sales and store operations, and helps maintain a welcoming, organized shopping environment. The position is based at Store #2305 in Media, Pennsylvania, with possible assignments to other stores within the county or district based on operational needs. Telework is not available. The position offers Affordable Care Act / Bronze Plan medical benefits from the first day of employment, and opportunities to gain retail experience and advance a career. Employees must be available for at least 13 hours per week, with the opportunity to work up to 32 hours depending on availability and store needs. Shifts are typically 4 to 6.5 hours. Scheduling rotates across weekdays and weekends, with daytime and evening hours. The store operates Monday through Sunday, 7:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.; work hours vary.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must meet the Pennsylvania residency requirement.
- Must be able to perform the essential job functions.
- Must pass a background investigation.
- Applicants with a felony conviction within the last ten years of their prospective employment date are not permitted to work for the PLCB; other criminal convictions are reviewed case by case.
- Must be able to work at least 13 hours per week.
Nice To Haves
- Availability for additional shifts or hours, up to 32 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service and help shoppers find products.
- Process sales transactions using a computerized cash register.
- Unload shipments, stock shelves, and set up product displays.
- Receive, assemble, and pack wholesale customer orders and load them into vehicles.
- Safely lift products weighing 30 to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 60 pounds, including lifting overhead or from the floor while squatting.
- Stand for extended periods.
- Keep the store clean and organized.
- Use scanners, box cutters, dollies, carts, hand trucks, and pallet jacks.
- Follow legal requirements to ensure alcohol is sold only to customers legally permitted to purchase it.
