About The Position

The Sales Associate assists the store management team with the overall operation and performance of the store, including sales, merchandising, and operations. The role supports animal and pet well-being while contributing to store success by following operational standards, achieving sales goals, and ensuring efficient daily operations. Sales Associates strive to enhance the lives of pets and their people through helpful service and product guidance. The position involves welcoming customers, helping them select appropriate pet food and accessories, maintaining a clean and organized sales floor, caring for animals in the store, and supporting inventory and merchandising tasks. Associates follow company policies and procedures communicated by the Sunrise Support Office and complete other duties assigned by store management. The role requires a flexible schedule that may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Employees must be at least 18 years old. Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays according to business needs.
Ability to repeatedly lift up to 55 pounds several times during a shift.
Ability to stand or move around for most of the work time.
Active listening when communicating with customers and employees.
Active observation when merchandising the store.
Ability to work independently at times and as part of a team.
Ability to maintain professionalism and a positive workplace attitude.

Responsibilities

Assist with sales, service, and customer-experience initiatives by demonstrating the company's selling and service models.
Acknowledge, welcome, and thank each customer in a friendly and timely manner.
Help customers select products and answer questions about food and accessories for their pets.
Comply with Brand Standards to maintain the store's consistency and reputation.
Work with the store team to meet or exceed targeted sales goals.
Clean pet enclosures and ensure animals have appropriate food and water.
Support maintenance of the fish system.
Restock shelves and fixtures and move products from the stockroom to the sales floor.
Maintain professionalism and a positive attitude when communicating in the workplace.
Complete tasks and other duties assigned by store management.
Follow company policies and procedures communicated by the Sunrise Support Office.
Maintain a clean, neat, and safe shopping environment.
Support merchandising and day-to-day store operations.
