About The Position

The Part-Time Sales Associate drives sales and customer relationships by providing excellent customer service and using effective selling techniques. The role performs daily store functions, including product merchandising and sales, customer relations, and store maintenance. Customer service, sales, and teamwork are the most important aspects of the position.

The associate displays basic fashion and trend knowledge, helps customers select merchandise, and maintains DTLR standards. They assist with shipments, merchandising, restocking, and pricing; uphold visual standards; help keep the store organized and orderly; and comply with company policies and training programs. The work takes place in a fast-paced retail environment and requires standing for extended periods and lifting, carrying, or pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

• Previous retail or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Excellent command of English to communicate effectively with management, customers, and coworkers.
• Basic fashion and style trend knowledge, and an interest in working with customers in a retail setting.
• Problem-solving, analytical, detail-orientation, flexibility, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to provide customer service, maintain accurate inventory, transport merchandise, and perform store maintenance.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift, carry, or push/pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work extended hours during critical project phases and in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Sell appropriate merchandise by understanding customer needs, applying basic fashion and trend knowledge, and building customer relationships.
• Provide customers with a positive, energetic, outgoing, and enthusiastic experience.
• Assist with shipments, merchandising, restocking, and pricing.
• Follow visual standards, complete daily restocking, and maintain size runs as directed.
• Assist in preventing employee and customer theft.
• Help maintain a neat, orderly, and organized sales environment as directed by store management.
• Comply with company policies and participate in service training and product programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
