About The Position

Goodwill NCW is a nonprofit organization with 28 retail stores across north-central Wisconsin. Its mission is to elevate people by eliminating barriers to employment and to transform lives through skill building for sustained employment and improved financial stability.

The Sales Associate supports customer satisfaction and store operations by processing purchases, educating customers about Goodwill programs, helping customers locate items, and maintaining merchandise displays and a clean, safe, organized work area. The position is performed primarily in a standard retail backroom or warehouse environment, with extensive team member contact and frequent interruptions.

Requirements

• Excellent time management and prioritization skills, with the ability to work through multiple tasks simultaneously under time constraints.
• Excellent communication, customer service, and attention to detail.
• Ability to operate a cash register and accurately count money.
• Basic math skills.
• Fluency in English.
• Experience with computers, or willingness and ability to learn.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including holidays, evenings, and weekends.
• Regular and timely attendance in accordance with the assigned work schedule.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently and accurately scan tickets and process payments while following cash-handling standards.
• Educate customers about the Round Up program to help achieve program goals.
• Inform customers about the Good Points program to help achieve program goals.
• Professionally answer telephone calls and operate the paging system.
• Ensure items are properly displayed, pulled, and restocked in accordance with merchandising standards and leadership guidance.
• Help customers locate items or seek assistance for them when needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Complete opening and closing checklists and support general cleaning, including parking lot maintenance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
