About The Position

As a Customer Service Associate at Lowe’s, you provide friendly, professional service and help customers find products and services for their home improvement needs. You listen and respond to questions, help customers select and handle merchandise, and ensure their needs are met. The role is based in the assigned store department—in this posting, Building Materials—and responsibilities may vary by department and hiring needs. Associates may also cross-train in other store areas.

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience using a computer to input, access, modify, or output information.
At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other necessary activities.
Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or more than 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.

Nice To Haves

At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
Bilingual skills.
Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.

Responsibilities

Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional customer service.
Help customers locate, select, and handle merchandise.
Replenish merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and down stocking products.
Process orders and deliveries accurately and on time.
Cross-train in other store areas to support customer service.
Prepare merchandise according to customer needs, such as cutting and bundling wood or cutting drywall.
Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
Complete other duties as assigned.
