About The Position

The Sales Associate assists with receiving, stocking, and pricing merchandise and helps maintain orderly merchandise presentation and overall store cleanliness. The role provides friendly, customized customer service, supports store operations, and contributes to a positive, professional, and safe work environment. Associates are expected to represent Westlake Ace Hardware positively and incorporate Ace Retail Group’s Core Values into daily decisions and interactions.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, and climb.
Ability to communicate effectively and work well with customers and associates.

Nice To Haves

Formal retail experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide a positive representation of Westlake Ace Hardware and proactively help customers solve problems.
Greet customers throughout the store, thank them when service is complete and as they leave, and provide friendly, customized assistance.
Answer pages and calls promptly, courteously, and effectively; refer complaints that cannot be resolved to management.
Maintain product knowledge and familiarity with the store layout and product locations.
Assist with receiving, checking in, stocking, and maintaining back-stock levels for merchandise.
Help maintain the sales floor, stock room, and outdoor merchandise area, including end caps and advertised merchandise, in a clean and orderly condition.
Assist with merchandise resets, price changes, and special orders.
Ensure store signage is current.
Operate a forklift after receiving proper training.
Communicate Store Support Center issues, as well as merchandising, cost-control, or sales ideas, to the General Manager.
Participate in store meetings and maintain professional appearance and conduct.
Perform other duties as assigned.
