About The Position

As a Customer Service Associate at Lowe’s, you provide friendly, professional customer service and help customers find products and services for their home improvement needs. You welcome customers, answer questions, help them locate and select merchandise, and occasionally load merchandise. You will spend much of your time listening to customers, answering questions, and organizing merchandise; daily responsibilities vary by department. Associates are assigned to a department based on hiring needs and skillsets, with possible departments including Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Inside Garden, Hardware, Tools, Millwork, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, and Pro Services. The role may require occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores, but does not require regular travel.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
• At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
• Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform the job.
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or more than 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.

Nice To Haves

• At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
• Bilingual skills.
• Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.
• Military or veteran background.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers, answer questions, and deliver friendly and professional customer service.
• Assist customers with locating and handling merchandise.
• Down stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
• Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
• Cross-functionally train in other store areas to help deliver customer service.
• Prepare merchandise for customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds.
• Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
