Full Time - Sales Associate - Millwork - Day
About The Position
The Sales Associate works in Lowe’s Millwork department during the day, welcoming customers and helping them find products and services that meet their home improvement needs. The role involves listening to customers, answering questions, helping them locate and select merchandise, and providing friendly, professional service. Associates may occasionally load merchandise and help with orders, deliveries, checkout, and merchandise preparation. Duties can vary by department, and associates may cross-train in other store areas. The position does not require regular travel, although occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores may be needed. Working conditions can include indoor and outdoor environments, changing or extreme weather, noise, and moving equipment or objects. Associates must follow safe-lifting guidance, use powered equipment only as required and with proper training or trained assistance, and limit single lifts to 75 pounds.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of experience using a computer to input, access, modify, or output information.
- At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
- Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary for the job.
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or more than 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
Nice To Haves
- At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
- Bilingual skills.
- Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional customer service.
- Help customers locate, handle, and select merchandise.
- Down stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
- Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
- Cross-train in other store areas to help deliver customer service.
- Prepare merchandise based on customer needs; examples include cutting and bundling wood.
- Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
- Occasionally load merchandise.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
