Job Summary The Store Associate plays a key role in delivering exceptional customer service, fostering customer satisfaction and loyalty, and contributing to a high-performing team environment. As a member of the HKG Duty Free team, you will assist travelers with their purchases, maintain an attractive and well-stocked sales floor, and help create a world-class shopping experience. This role involves active participation in sales, problem resolution, and daily store operations, including handling phone/email inquiries, assisting customers, and ensuring transactions are processed accurately and efficiently.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills with an upbeat, friendly attitude.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Compliance with HKG’s Drug and Alcohol Policy.
  • Basic computer skills for software use and documentation.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous cashier experience preferred.
  • Previous duty-free store experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Greet all walk-in customers promptly and warmly.
  • Maintain a positive, cooperative, and professional demeanor with both customers and coworkers.
  • Balance the cash drawer daily and complete all required transaction paperwork.
  • Organize and file all sales paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Process all sales transactions, including finalizing tickets, collecting necessary documentation, and completing credit card payments in compliance with company procedures.
  • Review transfer and distribution documents according to company policy.
  • Verify all documents for accuracy and completeness, reporting discrepancies to the Store Manager.
  • Assist in training team members on computer programs, transaction procedures, and paperwork handling.
  • Ensure shelves are merchandised and stocked according to direction from the Store Manager and Category Managers.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and professional appearance in line with company dress and grooming standards.
  • Support store maintenance, including vacuuming, dusting, and general cleaning as assigned.
  • Assist with unloading stock trucks as scheduled.
  • Follow all safe work practices to prevent injury and protect products and property.
