As a Part-Time Sales Assistant, you will have a flexible work environment to learn prospecting, sales presentation, and contract management. This entry-level, part-time position offers hourly compensation and will not exceed 27 hours per week. A high school diploma is required, and prior sales experience is a plus.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen ability to prioritize, multi-task and pay close attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communicator (oral and written) including desire to ask questions and learn from others.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and familiar with the Internet.
  • Reliable, clean transportation required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior sales experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Sales Counselor and Sales Associates with all aspects of selling and marketing the community.
  • Open the model in the morning, ensuring it is ready by 10:00 a.m. (12:00 p.m. Sundays). This includes unlocking, turning off exterior lights, checking radio, visually inspecting interior and exterior for cleanliness, and reporting deficiencies.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the model and completed inventory, including vacuuming, wiping countertops, emptying trash, and light cleaning.
  • Monitor the model(s) and completed inventory throughout the day, unlocking spec-home inventory and putting up 'open' signs.
  • Adhere to all safety program requirements.
  • Understand and adhere to all Company policies and procedures, Core Values, and Guiding Principles.
  • Adhere to the Company’s business dress code and grooming practices, appearing professional at all times.
  • Meet and greet all incoming customers promptly when the Sales Counselor is not present, obtain registration cards, and attempt to set up follow-up appointments.
  • Assist the Sales Counselor in effectively communicating information to the customer and retrieving appropriate information for follow-up.
  • Have a good understanding of the Company’s product and be able to answer questions about the building process, area schools, financing, shopping, parks, and playgrounds.
  • Have a strong knowledge of the plan mix for the community program outline.
  • Be familiar with all community spec-home inventory, standard specifications, options, upgrades, construction stage, and possible completion month.
  • Prepare a start memo with completed interior design work for spec starts.
  • Be familiar with all build-to-suit clients, their plans, and the progress of their homes.
  • Show inventory homes to prospective buyers as needed.
  • Help maintain an adequate supply of all marketing materials and office supplies.
  • Be familiar with procedures to acquire necessary supplies.
  • Have an adequate number of information packets ready to hand out at all times.
  • Assist the Sales Counselor with lead management and enter registration cards into the LMS system, assigning proper follow-up.
  • Maintain the Sales Counselor’s filing system, all contract documents, and their processing.
  • Maintain current house files.
  • Maintain accurate spec inventory in the MLS system, web page, and other inventory outlets.
  • Assist the Sales Counselor and Sales Associate with submitting all sales contract packages to the appropriate home office, Construction Managers, designers, or loan officers.
  • Support the construction team by typing letters, making copies, reproducing house files, and faxing information when sales office duties are completed.
  • Contact buyers and vendors to assist with appointments during the building process, as needed.
  • Help the Sales Counselor prepare an accurate Closing Objectives report and provide copies to all participants in the weekly subdivision sales/construction meeting.
  • Assist in coordinating closings, including scheduling closing times and ensuring all necessary paperwork is complete and on time.
  • Be available to work at Realtor functions, luncheons, and community grand openings.
  • Help the Sales Counselor market the subdivision and generate traffic through approved methods.
  • Have a 'lot fit' book available for all lots and plans on the subdivision program outline and inventory homes.
  • Ensure all 'Starts' have proper paperwork completely filled out with necessary approvals before submission to Architecture.
  • Be knowledgeable of the Community’s Architecture guidelines and plan repetition rules.
  • Close the model in the evening, ensuring exterior lights are on, interior is inspected for deficiencies, window latches are secure, the security system is armed, and doors are locked.
  • Lock all spec-home inventory and take down 'open' signs as required.
