About The Position
J.J. Taylor Distributing, Florida Inc. is hiring a Sales Assistant to represent the company at supermarkets and other customer accounts. Sales Assistants follow assigned routes, stock and rotate products, arrange promotional displays, and help provide a positive customer experience. They work with sales representatives and store personnel to build displays and, for certain accounts, help place orders. The role requires a valid Florida Class E driver’s license, an acceptable driving record, and the ability to maintain the specified auto insurance. Employees use their own transportation to travel between accounts.
Requirements
- Valid Florida Class E driver’s license, required insurance, and an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to maintain $100,000/$300,000 private passenger auto insurance with designated business usage.
- Ability to use personal transportation to travel between customer accounts.
- Ability to regularly unload and transport cases of beer weighing an average of 30 pounds and up to 49 pounds.
- Ability to move around account premises to check stock and display point-of-sale materials.
- Ability to climb and work on ladders when required.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous merchandising, sales, promotions, or stocking experience.
Responsibilities
- Stock shelves, coolers, warm shelves, displays, and non-alcoholic products according to planograms, working backstock first and following FIFO rotation.
- Arrange and rotate product displays according to company standards.
- Distribute point-of-sale materials, including neons, clocks, mirrors, posters, inflatables, tackers, glasses, cups, sample kits, case cards, core buff, and pennant string.
- Build and merchandise displays in assigned accounts, communicating with store sales representatives about display preferences.
- Work with sales representatives to help place orders for certain accounts.
