About The Position

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a consultative Sales Arborist to serve an assigned territory in Sacramento, California. The role sells and provides expert tree care services and inspections for residential and commercial customers, making sound arboricultural recommendations and supporting the safe completion of tree pruning, removals, plant health care, soil care, and other arboricultural work. The position requires strong sales, organizational, customer service, communication, and prioritization skills, along with working knowledge of tree care practices. The Sales Arborist estimates project time and costs, prepares written proposals using proprietary software, schedules and directs crews, and assists the District Manager with operational direction. The position is on site, with travel expectations of up to 25%. It is a permanent, full-time role.

Requirements

ISA Certified Arborist certification is required.
At least 3 to 4 years of proven success selling and managing residential and commercial services; the qualifications section prefers 3 to 5 years of arboriculture experience.
Working knowledge and experience in tree care, hazard tree evaluation, integrated pest management, and industry-approved tree-care practices.
Strong sales, communication, customer service, and follow-through skills.
Leadership, crew management, and training expertise.
Prioritize safe working procedures and familiarity with ANSI and OSHA tree-industry regulations.
Self-motivated, adaptable, organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
Computer proficiency.
Valid driver's license.
Must complete a pre-employment drug screen and Social Security verification.

Nice To Haves

Two- or four-year degree in a green-industry field.
Commercial Driver's License.
Bilingual English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

Sell arboricultural services and provide sound tree-care recommendations to residential and commercial customers.
Respond to client inquiries and support sales and marketing of the organization.
Maintain existing accounts and develop relationships with new clients within an assigned territory.
Estimate crew time and project costs for tree removal, pruning, and cabling, and prepare written proposals using proprietary software.
Schedule work, dispatch crews, and direct crews in completing proposed projects.
Assist the District Manager in directing operations.
Support the safe completion of tree-care work, including pruning, removals, plant health care, and soil care.
Evaluate hazard trees and apply integrated pest management and industry-approved tree-care practices.
