Sales and Use Tax Accountant

GRSI•Jacksonville, FL

About The Position

The Sales and Use Tax Accountant owns the Company’s multi-state sales and use tax compliance, including accurate tax determination, accrual, reporting, and remittance across the jurisdictions where the Company operates. Since much of the Company’s exposure arises from self-assessed use tax on purchases, the role is part of the Procure to Pay organization and works directly with purchasing and accounts payable transactions. The position determines taxability at the point of purchase, defends the Company’s positions in state audits, and ensures applicable exemptions are claimed. The role also administers tax determination processes in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance, manages exemption and resale certificates, reviews opportunities to recover overpayments, monitors nexus and registration obligations, reconciles tax accounts, and researches changes in tax law. It coordinates with internal stakeholders and external tax advisors, supports acquisition and disposition due diligence and integration, and identifies process and system improvements. The position may also assist with other tax filings, projects, and duties as assigned.
