Sales and Service Technician
About The Position
The Sales and Service Technician (SST) is a hybrid retail role intended to be a pipeline for future career growth within Firestone Complete Auto Care. The role primarily serves customers by assessing their needs, recommending appropriate products and services, performing entry-level vehicle services, and ensuring customer satisfaction through thorough and timely service completion. The successful candidate learns all aspects of store operations and flexes between customer-facing duties and basic vehicle service tasks as needed. The role is primarily focused on customer service, sales, and issue resolution (75%), with basic vehicle service tasks such as oil, tire, and fluid services making up 25%. Store operations duties, including opening and closing, inventory, and displays, are performed as needed. The technician may assist the Manager or act as Manager-On-Duty in certain circumstances or as part of development.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid automobile driver's license.
- Customer service and career-growth mindset.
- Ability to learn and perform basic vehicle service tasks.
- Ability to learn and operate store systems.
Nice To Haves
- Two-year degree or non-traditional education through completion of a training program, certification, or other evidence of a growth mindset.
- Previous consumer retail sales experience.
- Previous automotive experience.
- Previous management or supervisory experience.
Responsibilities
- Assess customer needs and recommend appropriate products and services.
- Provide customer service, make sales, and resolve customer issues.
- Perform basic vehicle service tasks, including oil, tire, and fluid services.
- Complete services thoroughly and promptly to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Learn and perform store operations, including opening and closing, inventory, and displays, as needed.
- Flex between customer-facing duties and front- and back-shop tasks.
- Learn to operate store systems.
- Assist the Manager or act as Manager-On-Duty in certain circumstances or to support development.
