Sales and Service Technician
About The Position
The Sales and Service Technician (SST) is a hybrid retail role at Firestone Complete Auto Care and is intended to be a pipeline for future career growth. The role primarily serves customers by assessing needs, recommending appropriate products and services, performing entry-level vehicle services, and ensuring customer satisfaction through thorough and timely work. The position learns all aspects of store operations and flexes between customer-facing duties and basic vehicle service tasks. Customer service, sales, and issue resolution make up approximately 75% of the role; basic vehicle service tasks make up approximately 25%. Store operations, including opening and closing, inventory, and displays, are handled as needed. The technician may assist the Manager or act as Manager-On-Duty in certain circumstances or as part of development. The listed pay range is $16.52–$25.82. Bridgestone states that employees are paid at least the applicable minimum wage. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid automobile driver's license.
- Customer service and career-growth mindset.
- Ability to learn and perform basic vehicle service tasks.
- Ability to learn and operate store systems.
Nice To Haves
- Two-year degree or non-traditional education through training program completion, certification, or other evidence of a growth mindset.
- Previous consumer retail sales experience.
- Previous automotive experience.
- Previous management or supervisory experience.
Responsibilities
- Assess customer needs and recommend appropriate products and services.
- Provide customer service, make sales, and resolve customer issues.
- Perform entry-level vehicle service tasks, including oil, tire, and fluid services.
- Complete services thoroughly and in a timely manner to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Learn store operations and flex between customer-facing and front- and back-shop tasks.
- Assist with store operations, including opening and closing, inventory, and displays, as needed.
- May assist the Manager or act as Manager-On-Duty in certain circumstances or to support development.
