About The Position

Safety-Kleen, a subsidiary of Clean Harbors, is seeking a Sales and Service Route Driver Trainee in Independence, Missouri. The trainee will learn to operate a Class B box truck, provide onsite service for parts washer machines, collect containerized hazardous waste, and sell products and services along a defined route. The company pays for CDL training and supports obtaining the required license and endorsements.

Clean Harbors provides environmental, energy, and industrial services across the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Puerto Rico. The company emphasizes health and safety, sustainability, and environmental cleanup.

Requirements

• Obtain a Class B CDL within 180 days of employment; the company pays for it.
• Obtain Hazmat and Tanker endorsements within 30 days of obtaining the CDL B.
• Ability to work independently while managing time and productivity.
• Basic computer and math skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Ability to perform the physical functions required by the job.
• Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical, as required for the position.

Nice To Haves

• Strong customer service skills.
• Commercial route driving experience (Class C or non-CDL).

Responsibilities

• Make health and safety the top priority by complying with safe work practices, policies, and processes.
• Complete scheduled services, deliveries, and pickups on time.
• Switch out 15- and 30-gallon solution drums at customer locations.
• Complete required documentation and labeling.
• Generate or collect customer leads for new products and services.
• Sell additional products and services to existing accounts.
• Follow local, state or provincial, and federal compliance rules and regulations.
• Operate vehicles safely in accordance with U.S. DOT and applicable local, state or provincial, and federal requirements.
• Follow corporate operating guidelines and procedures.
• Follow company environmental health and safety guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
