About The Position

Bell Nursery is seeking an experienced Marketing & Sales Generation Professional responsible for driving revenue growth by developing and executing integrated marketing strategies and sales initiatives tailored to live goods (plants, flowers, nursery products). This role bridges marketing and sales functions, focusing on demand generation, customer acquisition, and brand positioning across retail, wholesale, and e-commerce channels.

Requirements

  • 5-8+ years of experience in Marketing and Sales Generation and Channel Expertise
  • Bachelor’s degree in business marketing, Sales, Horticulture or related field
  • Integrated campaign development (digital, retail, trade marketing)
  • Lead generation and funnel management
  • Content strategy (especially educational/lifestyle content for plant care)
  • Brand positioning and storytelling
  • Understanding of retail and wholesale sales cycles
  • Experience with sell-in vs. sell-through strategies
  • Pricing, promotion, and margin optimization
  • Account-based marketing support for key customers
  • Proficiency in marketing analytics (Google Analytics, CRM platforms, etc.)
  • Ability to track KPIs such as conversion rates, ROI, and customer acquisition cost
  • Forecasting demand and aligning with supply constraints
  • Retail (big-box, garden centers) and/or e-commerce experience
  • Merchandising and point-of-sale marketing
  • Omnichannel campaign execution
  • Ability to manage multiple campaigns across overlapping seasonal timelines
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and external vendors/agencies
  • Knowledge of plant categories, growing cycles, and regional demand differences
  • Familiarity with perishability challenges (shrink, spoilage, logistics timing)
  • Understanding of sustainability trends and consumer preferences in live goods

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement marketing plans to promote live goods products across seasonal cycles.
  • Manage campaigns across digital platforms, in-store promotions, and trade marketing.
  • Align product launches with growing seasons, holidays, and regional demand trends.
  • Oversee branding, messaging, and content specific to plant care, sustainability, and lifestyle benefits.
  • Partner with sales teams to create lead generation programs and promotional strategies.
  • Identify new market opportunities (garden centers, big-box retailers, landscapers, online platforms).
  • Drive sell-through strategies for perishable/live inventory.
  • Track and optimize conversion rates, sell-in/sell-out performance, and customer acquisition cost.
  • Support retail and wholesale accounts with marketing materials, merchandising strategies, and promotions.
  • Collaborate with e-commerce teams to optimize product listings, seasonal promotions, and customer journeys.
  • Analyze market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activity in the horticulture industry.
  • Use data to refine campaigns, forecast demand, and reduce shrink/waste.
  • Monitor KPIs such as sales growth, ROI, traffic, and engagement.
  • Work closely with growers, supply chain, and merchandising teams to align supply with demand.
  • Plan marketing calendars around planting seasons, weather patterns, and regional differences.
  • Support pricing and promotional strategies for perishable goods.
  • Lead and collaborate with marketing, sales, merchandising, and operations teams.
  • Manage external agencies, vendors, and creative partners.
  • Train sales teams on product positioning and marketing initiatives.
