About The Position

Summary of Responsibilities: Reporting to the Assistant Director, Catering & Conference Services, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service Assist with answering telephones in the Sales Office and directing calls appropriately. (Number One Priority) Assist Sales and Catering Sales team by monitoring all lead sources and distribute leads to appropriate Sales and Catering Managers. Provide back up to other Coordinators in the Sales & Catering office Assist in maintaining an accurate client data base in Sales and Catering and adherence to all Fairmont Hotels and Resort system standards. Provide administrative support to specified Sales and Catering Manager(s) & Conference Services Managers merging proposal letters and letters of agreement, mailings, distribution of all banquet event orders, weekly distribution of the ten day report, daily distribution of all changes and other miscellaneous tasks required. Ensure prompt and courteous service is extended to both internal and external clients. Develop skills to conduct site inspections for walk-in appointments in the event that a Sales and Catering Manager is not available to assist. Perform general office management duties, including ordering supplies, managing records and coding invoices. Attend weekly and monthly meetings. Have a complete knowledge of hotel services and accommodations. Participate in hotel and sales training programs when applicable. Maintain current sales and promotion literature. Energetic, self motivated and flexible to change Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced work environment Must be professional, enthusiastic, a strong team player and possess excellent organizational skills

  • Previous experience is an asset
  • College degree or diploma in Hotel/Restaurant Management an asset.
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Experience in a full service hotel with comparable service and standards.
  • Exerting up to ten pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry push, pull or otherwise move objects, and long hours sometimes may be required.
  • Must possess an advanced degree of knowledge in Excel and Word.
  • Constant standing and walking throughout shifts.
  • May occasionally exert up to 10 pounds lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
