About The Position

The Amines & Specialties Business (CIA & CID Chemical Intermediates) is seeking a professional to serve as Sales Account Manager. In this role, you will manage a variety of customers and consistently drive to find new business opportunities and strive to support organic growth targets. This position is a field position covering a variety of chemical markets such as, Water Treatment, CASE, and personal care. Travel for this role is estimated to be 40-60%. The preferred candidate will live in the Houston area or within one hour of a major airport in the Eastern or Central Time Zone.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or Business.
  • 8+ years Sales and customer experience.
  • Excellent planning, organizing and work management skills to effectively prioritize customer needs and BASF needs.
  • Experience and success being a self-starter.
  • Effective and persuasive communication and presentation skills that sell benefits and creates value.
  • Strong customer focus combined with an entrepreneurial approach that creates a winning value proposition for all stakeholders.
  • The willingness to learn and apply sales techniques.
  • Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Share Point.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and managing lead generation and collaborating with Product Managers, Business Development while closing new business opportunities.
  • Identifying new customers and valuable market intelligence in North America to support organic growth.
  • Building lasting customer relationships to identify business opportunities and trends, as well as build a strong network with internal stakeholders.
  • Participating as a Sales and customer management professional. This includes Salesforce collaboration, call reports, reporting of any key intelligence data collected, contract management & negotiations, price, and margin management of customer portfolio.
