About The Position

As a member of the Payroll team, you will ensure the company’s payroll is processed in a timely and accurate manner and in accordance with Company and government policies. This position requires someone with strong attention to detail that operates well in a fast paced environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years payroll experience processing the full payroll cycle.
  • Efficient with Excel.
  • Data processing skills.
  • Ability to effectively deal with confidential information.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Team player.
  • Able to manage a large volume of work.
  • Consistently meet deadlines while ensuring high attention to detail and accuracy.

Nice To Haves

  • PCP designation.
  • Experience using an in house payroll system.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and/or process salary and hourly payroll.
  • Conduct salary calculations for new hires, changes, terminations, etc.
  • Reconcile source deductions, benefits, and WCB.
  • Process remittances related to payroll including disbursements to benefit carriers, tax authorities and worker's compensation ensuring compliance with legislation.
  • Liaise with staff and management on payroll related inquiries.
  • Prepare various month end reports.
  • Prepare Records of Employment using ROE Web.
  • Prepare various correspondence, statistical summaries, and other material related to payroll function.
  • Assist Management with internal and external audits.
  • Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Perform payroll administrative tasks as required.
