About The Position

The Salad/Prep Cook is responsible for producing salads and sandwiches and cleaning before, during, and after service. The role also prepares sandwiches, salads, and desserts for students and faculty, supports kitchen cleaning during and at the end of the shift, and may help put away orders. This hands-on, front- and back-of-house position serves as an initial point of contact for students and faculty and requires speed, efficiency, accuracy, and excellent customer service. The position is based in Boston, Massachusetts, and is full-time, with a schedule of 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The hourly rate is $23.00, paid weekly by direct deposit.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
1–3 years of experience in a similar deli position.
Dependable, neat, clean, and professional.
Excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

Prepare daily meals, including made-to-order deli and salad items and catering orders as needed.
Chop and slice meats, cheese, and vegetables; cook foods; prepare sandwiches and grab-and-go items.
Prepare lunch and dinner stations according to company guidelines.
Stock stations with items needed for service.
Bake, roast, broil, and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods.
Carve, trim, and prepare meats and seafood for hot or cold service.
Ensure customers are attended to and the department remains clean and presentable.
Provide attentive, approachable customer service, including greeting and thanking customers.
Operate and sanitize equipment safely and properly.
Support culinary staff at other stations as directed.
Clean the kitchen during and at the end of the shift, and help put away orders as needed.
Follow and promote company standards for safety, food handling, sanitation, uniform guidelines, and productivity.
