About The Position

HazTek is hiring an experienced Safety Specialist in Newark, New Jersey, to support commercial construction projects. The role oversees project safety and OSHA compliance, promotes a culture where workers go home safe, and supports daily safety activities and inspections. This is a local opportunity with no travel, per diem, or relocation offered. The stated pay range is $95,000–$105,000.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of construction safety experience.
• OSHA 30-hour Construction certification.
• First Aid/CPR certifications.
• Strong knowledge of construction safety standards.
• Experience in Fall Protection, Scaffolding, Steel Erection, and Excavation.
• Ability to work day and night shifts as needed.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of commercial construction projects to ensure OSHA compliance.
• Conduct daily safety meetings.
• Complete accident reports and conduct accident investigations.
• Ensure all personnel wear their personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Conduct daily safety audits and inspections.
• Inspect power tools and heavy equipment.
