About The Position

Compliance Management International (CMI) is seeking an experienced Construction Safety Specialist to support a long-term pharmaceutical construction project in Marietta, PA. This role involves promoting a safe, compliant, and productive construction environment by working alongside General Contractors, subcontractors, and project leadership. The position is field-based and requires daily oversight of active construction operations.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience, preferably supporting General Contractors or large commercial construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Construction Standards.
  • Experience working in fast-paced construction environments.
  • Excellent hazard recognition, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic safety management systems.
  • Ability to work overtime and flexible schedules based on project needs.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of Marietta, PA.

Nice To Haves

  • Pharmaceutical construction or life sciences construction experience is highly preferred.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification (completed within the past five years).
  • Current First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications.
  • BCSP certifications such as CHST, STS-C, ASP, or CSP.
  • OSHA 510/500, NFPA 70E, or other construction safety certifications.
  • Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the on-site safety resource for project leadership, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Conduct daily jobsite inspections, safety audits, and field observations.
  • Identify hazards, recommend corrective actions, and verify timely resolution.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through coaching, mentoring, and employee engagement.
  • Lead and support Pre-Task Planning (PTPs), Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), permit programs, and incident investigations.
  • Facilitate new hire orientations, toolbox talks, and task-specific safety training.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Construction Standards and project-specific safety requirements.
  • Support high-risk work activities, including electrical safety, fall protection, confined space entry, crane operations, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and hot work.
  • Maintain safety reports, inspections, incident documentation, and project safety metrics.
  • Partner with project leadership to drive continuous improvement and strengthen the site's safety culture.
