About The Position

This internship provides hands-on experience supporting workplace safety programs in an agricultural and industrial environment. The intern learns from and supports the Safety Director in planning, administering, and training employees on environmental, safety, and regulatory compliance initiatives. The role involves safety training, regulatory reporting, audits, documentation, and daily operational safety practices.

The intern also assists with facility housekeeping and safety-related maintenance, participates in ongoing safety education, and supports daily operational safety needs as directed. Interns must maintain the confidentiality of company and employee information at all times. The position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Safety Management, Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic understanding of workplace safety principles.
• Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and basic data entry.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Able to stand, walk, climb, bend, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• May need to work at heights and in varying weather conditions with appropriate safety equipment.
• Must maintain the confidentiality of company and employee information.

Responsibilities

• Learn and assist with safety training, toolbox talks, and safety meetings.
• Support incident reporting, investigations, and corrective action tracking.
• Assist with safety audits and inspections of facilities and equipment.
• Help maintain safety documentation, training records, and regulatory reports.
• Observe and support compliance with OSHA, EPA, and company safety policies.
• Promote safe work practices and proper PPE usage.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support safety operations.
• Assist with general facility housekeeping and safety-related maintenance tasks.
• Participate in ongoing safety education and training activities.
• Support daily operational safety needs as directed.
