About The Position

This position provides support to the ICP Safeguards and Security (S&S) program to ensure security requirements are met and documentation, facilities, and equipment are maintained. The role involves providing security access controls and maintaining accurate accountability of all individuals entering and exiting the Radioactive Waste Management Complex (RWMC) Advanced Mixed Waste Treatment Facility (AMWTP). Responsibilities include issuing and maintaining badge inventory and verification of security badges, maintaining the security key program and associated documentation, answering phones, and conducting radio communications. The position is also responsible for the security coordination of all visits, tours, and vendors, and for maintaining security and emergency management records in accordance with DOE records management requirements. The role may also assist security personnel with special projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Associate degree plus 2 years relevant experience or equivalent (for Salary Grade 06).
  • Associate degree plus 10 years relevant experience or equivalent (for Salary Grade 10).
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a “Q” Clearance.
  • Must have proficiency with Windows operating systems.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Must possess a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or other state photo identity card.
  • Males born after December 31, 1959, must have registered with the Selective Service System (SSS).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in security programs is preferred.
  • Must be willing and able to work at INL Site facilities, including 12-hour shifts, whenever necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Provide security access controls and maintain personnel accountability at RWMC.
  • Operate and maintain the security electronic access control system including enrollment, badge issuance, maintaining badge inventory, and badge verification.
  • Coordinate processing of tours, visitors, and vendors, and assist with obtaining dosimeters as needed.
  • Answer phones and conduct radio communications.
  • Provide administrative support for various activities to the S&S & Emergency Management organization.
  • Provide support to RWMC Operations as requested.
  • Issue temporary badges, including verifying personnel training as necessary, and maintain all facility access logs and badge inventories.
  • Maintain checkout keys to all secured areas and maintain all associated key records.
  • Immediate response to emergencies and provide support to the emergency response organization.
