About The Position

As a Security Officer, you patrol and protect the facility, grounds, and building to preserve the peace and make employees feel safe and secure.

Requirements

• One year of guard or public safety experience required
• Demonstrated professionalism
• Ability to think quickly and make decisive judgments
• Ability to remain calm in high-stress situations
• High school diploma or equivalent
• NYS Security Guard License required
• Valid NYS Driver’s License
• CPR certification for new hires or obtained within 3 months of hire
• Preventing Managing Crisis Situation Training (PMCS) certification or obtain within 3 months of hire

Responsibilities

• Investigate cases of detected or reported criminal and safety matters; identify and report real or potential hazards in the environment; transfer and discharge patients as requested
• Monitor and control hospital employee and visitor parking areas
• Maintain a visible security presence, respond to routine and emergency incidents, patrol facilities, and prevent unauthorized access or disturbances.
• Monitor entrances and exits, assist and screen visitors, and ensure proper admittance processes are followed.
• Respond to and manage incidents involving violence, hazards, or emergencies; protect evidence and communicate effectively with appropriate personnel.
• Provide respectful, courteous interactions with patients, staff, and visitors while representing the organization professionally.
• Uphold grooming and uniform standards, identify safety hazards, demonstrate age-related care competency, and perform additional duties as needed.
