About The Position

The primary responsibilities of the Security Officer are to conduct patrols within and outside the facility, respond immediately to emergency and non-emergency calls for assistance and document services provided for each shift. Other responsibilities include contributing to the preservation of life, protection of property and overall safety of the campus for employees, visitors, and patients. The role also involves conducting thorough and fair investigations into any/all inappropriate activity, providing education and guidance to staff, visitors and patients around reducing their likelihood of becoming victims of violence, and operating and monitoring employer-supplied security equipment. All Security staff must be available for short notice call-in in the event of an emergency and maintain a high level of confidentiality for all patient PHI (Protected Health Information).

Requirements

  • High School diploma
  • Successful completion of all related eligibility requirements for employment
  • Able to understand and follow oral and written instructions
  • Good Communication Skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to evolving situations
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 6 months of hire
  • Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) de-escalation training within 3 months of hire
  • Any other Healthcare Security and Safety trainings required for employment by the employer

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Law Enforcement or Security experience preferred
