This role assists the HS&E Department in ensuring compliance with safety policies, fire and flooding plans, and corporate, state, and federal regulations. The Safety Representative works with employees on safety issues and risk prevention concerns, performs site and equipment inspections, assists with accident investigations, and conducts safety surveys. They are responsible for comprehensive on-site inspections, recommending corrective actions, and providing first response medical assistance. The role requires the ability to calibrate and use air monitoring equipment, conduct monthly inspections, extinguish fires at the incipient stage, and mitigate hazardous material spills. Collaboration with other safety personnel, supervisors, and managers is essential, along with performing other related duties as assigned, such as operating on-board fire suppression systems. Compliance with company guidelines, procedures, and policies, and conducting workplace investigations are also key responsibilities.
