General Motors’ Global Product Safety, Systems, and Certification (GPSSC) organization is hiring a senior engineer to lead the development and integration of occupant performance and crashworthiness systems for vehicle programs, with primary responsibility for frontal impact performance. The role owns occupant system integration throughout the vehicle development lifecycle and applies technical expertise, innovation, independent judgment, initiative, and project leadership to resolve complex challenges and meet safety, timing, and quality objectives. The engineer uses computer-aided engineering (CAE) simulations to assess occupant performance and develop restraint systems for high-speed frontal impacts. They guide vehicle design and recommend technical solutions that meet program safety targets, balance safety with other vehicle performance requirements, and collaborate with engineering functions, program teams, suppliers, manufacturing, and global teams. The role also plans and analyzes proving-ground tests, compares CAE results with test measurements, communicates performance status, and supports testing at Milford Proving Grounds when required. The position is categorized as hybrid, with the selected candidate expected to report to a specific location at least three times per week, or at another frequency set by their manager. Local travel is required, and relocation benefits are available to candidates who qualify under company policy. GM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role.
