About The Position

Ken’s Gutters is seeking an experienced Safety & OSHA Compliance Officer to oversee and strengthen the safety program for our field operations. This is not an entry-level safety position or a general HR compliance role. Our field professionals perform gutter cleaning, dryer vent cleaning, and other exterior home services that frequently involve extension ladders, roof access, and working at heights. We are specifically looking for someone with hands-on experience managing these types of occupational safety risks. The position is approximately 5–10 hours per week and will include a combination of safety program administration, employee training, documentation, and periodic field inspections.

Requirements

  • Professional experience in construction safety, roofing safety, exterior home services, facilities/field services, or another industry involving significant work-at-height hazards.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA construction safety standards (29 CFR Part 1926).
  • Demonstrated experience with fall protection and working-at-height safety.
  • Demonstrated experience with portable and extension ladder safety.
  • Experience conducting field/jobsite safety inspections.
  • Experience developing or implementing written safety procedures.
  • Experience delivering safety training to field employees.
  • Ability to identify unsafe conditions and clearly communicate required corrective actions.
  • Ability to maintain accurate safety and training documentation.

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification.
  • OSHA 510 or equivalent advanced OSHA training.
  • Experience serving as or supporting an OSHA Competent Person for relevant hazards.
  • Experience with residential roofing, gutters, exterior home services, construction, or similar field operations.
  • Experience with personal fall-arrest systems, harnesses, anchors, and rescue procedures.
  • Safety certifications such as CHST, ASP, CSP, or similar are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Review our current field operations and identify OSHA and workplace safety compliance gaps.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain appropriate written safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA requirements for our field operations.
  • Establish and oversee procedures for working at heights and fall prevention/protection.
  • Establish and monitor ladder safety procedures, including proper selection, setup, use, inspection, and removal of unsafe equipment from service.
  • Review requirements for harnesses, personal fall protection equipment, anchors, and other fall-protection systems where applicable.
  • Establish PPE requirements for different types of field work.
  • Conduct periodic safety inspections of technicians working at customer properties.
  • Identify unsafe practices and recommend or require corrective action.
  • Develop Job Hazard Analyses / Job Safety Analyses as appropriate.
  • Conduct or coordinate required safety training for employees.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation of safety training and inspections.
  • Develop recurring toolbox talks and safety refreshers.
  • Review incidents and near misses, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Advise management regarding OSHA recordkeeping and reporting requirements.
  • Review safety requirements applicable to both employees and subcontracted field professionals.
  • Keep management informed of regulatory changes or safety issues affecting our operations.
  • Help create a practical safety culture where field employees understand not only the rules, but how to perform their work safely.

Benefits

  • Compensation $45–$55 per hour, depending on qualifications and relevant field safety experience. Candidates with significant construction safety and fall-protection expertise may be considered at a higher rate.
