About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the Vice President-Irvine office, and the Director of Safety & Risk, this position requires supporting CSI Construction projects, personnel and subcontractors in the designated area by completing regularly scheduled safety inspections on each active project, as well as reviewing and revising documentation, to ensure a safe and compliant workplace.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of full-time construction safety experience.
  • OSHA 510 completed, with desire to obtain OSHA 500 Outreach Trainer qualification.
  • Experience visiting several different projects in a territory and managing your time effectively.
  • Experience with accident investigations, OSHA inspections, etc. and properly documenting the events.
  • Advanced understanding of construction sequencing and different scopes of work for the varying subcontractors on multi-family and commercial project settings.
  • Public speaking and/or training experience with varying group sizes on the projects and in the office.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Cal-OSHA High Work Permitting experience
  • Stormwater Planning and Permitting experience
  • Ability to manage several tasks at the same time
  • Excellent communications skills with all levels of personnel internally and externally
  • Professional mindset that represents the company well

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced safety certifications preferred, or the ability to obtain within 1 year of employment (STSC, CHST, etc.)
  • Bilingual preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Plan work to ensure regular site visits are conducted on all active projects within the territory.
  • Manage the Southern California territory and support CSI Construction personnel and projects within that area.
  • Conduct regularly scheduled safety inspections and work with the project team, subcontractors and all other involved personnel to maintain safe working conditions.
  • Provide various safety training on construction sites and in classroom settings.
  • Participate in all-hands safety meetings periodically to support the CSI Construction team.
  • Serve as a resource for CSI Construction personnel and the subcontractors safety related concerns and inquiries.
  • Provide support for OSHA inspections if they visit one of our projects for any reason.
  • Conduct incident investigations, root cause analysis, and document the findings accordingly.
  • Ordering and delivering signage, postings, PPE, First Aid kits, etc. to the projects when needed.
  • Educate site personnel in safety standards and industry best practices.
  • Conduct research on the client’s behalf to clarify standards, interpretations and best practices.
  • Be very familiar with CSI Construction’s safety orientation process for subcontractors and support the project teams when needed.
  • Assist CSI Construction personnel and with gathering and maintaining documentation in and reviewing regularly with the project team to ensure it is always in good order.
  • Enter inspection reports into database and distribute to project team after completed.
  • Communicate regularly with the CSI Construction personnel and subcontractors.
  • Assist in developing and updating safety programs and plans.
  • Complete Cal-OSHA high work permits for new projects in the territory.
  • Assist with new project Stormwater plans and permitting.
  • Enter inspection reports into database and distribute to clients.
  • Participate in the monthly scheduled Safety Leadership Group meetings with counterparts from other CSI Construction offices.
  • Seek out and complete relevant training to ensure continual professional development.
