About The Position

The Safety Manager for Primoris Energy Services in Donaldsonville, LA, is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive safety programs and policies to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with all relevant regulations. This role focuses on preventing incidents, promoting a strong safety culture, and managing all aspects of health and safety for the site.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in safety management within the industrial construction, energy, oil & gas, or petrochemical sectors.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations (especially 1910 and 1926), DOT, EPA, and other relevant federal, state, and local safety standards.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing effective safety management systems.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough incident investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to other job sites as needed.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain site-specific safety policies, procedures, and programs in accordance with Primoris Services Corporation standards, OSHA, and other applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Lead incident investigations, including root cause analysis, to determine contributing factors and implement corrective and preventative actions.
  • Provide safety training and education to employees at all levels, including new hire orientations, specialized hazard training, and refresher courses.
  • Manage and maintain all safety documentation, records, and reports, ensuring accuracy and availability for audits and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the administration of the company's workers' compensation program, working closely with HR and claims adjusters.
  • Collaborate with project management, operations, and other departments to integrate safety into all aspects of project planning and execution.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies during inspections and inquiries.
  • Promote and foster a proactive safety culture through communication, recognition programs, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Evaluate and recommend safety equipment and technologies to enhance workplace safety.
  • Participate in pre-job planning meetings to identify and mitigate potential safety risks.
  • Stay current with industry best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging safety technologies.
