Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health, Safety, or a related field, plus 5+ years of related experience
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and electrical safety requirements
  • Proven success leading safety execution in active construction environments
  • Experience providing hands-on leadership as part of a field team
  • Strong communication skills with craft personnel, supervisors, clients, and subcontractors
  • Support project startups, turnarounds, and other high-risk work activities
  • Ability to obtain client-required safety certifications and site-specific qualifications
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands and stay effective in a fast-moving environment

Responsibilities

  • Drive consistent execution of Interstates safety programs, policies, and procedures across all assigned projects
  • Partner closely with Operations leaders to build safety into planning, scheduling, and field execution
  • Set clear expectations and help teams stay accountable for safety performance and compliance
  • Lead serious incident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Track and report safety metrics, trends, and leading indicators to drive improvement
  • Visit jobsites regularly to observe work, identify risk, and reinforce expectations
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and client-specific safety requirements
  • Allocate safety resources based on project risk, complexity, and staffing needs
  • Support preconstruction and project planning to identify and reduce risk early
  • Lead or support internal and external safety audits
  • Share lessons learned and best practices to strengthen continuous improvement
  • Partner on fleet safety and workplace security initiatives
  • Support Automation, Design Services, OTIS (Operational Technology Infrastructure & Security), and M&S (Maintenance & Support) teams
