About The Position

This assignment supports safety oversight for drywall, framing, lath and plaster, and fireproofing activities on a large-scale hospital expansion. The role involves daily inspections and monitoring of contractor activities, oversight of drywall and framing crews in high-paced environments, conducting toolbox talks, orientations, and safety training, hazard identification, corrective action tracking, and compliance reporting. The Safety Manager will also coordinate with GC, subcontractors, and site teams to maintain a strong safety culture. The role requires being a visible safety leader in the field, not just administrative support, and managing safety documentation, incident investigations, and reports. The position also involves coaching and motivating workers, ensuring a proactive approach to safety.

Requirements

  • Drywall/framing experience
  • BCSP (STS-C or Higher), OSHA 30, and 5+ years of experience
  • Construction safety management background
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage a diverse workforce
  • Physically capable of navigating a large project site
  • BCSP certification (STSC, CHST, or equivalent)
  • NFPE 70E
  • LOTO
  • 5+ years of experience as a construction safety manager with electrical safety experience
  • Excellent public speaking and communication abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Professionalism and confidentiality in handling sensitive information
  • Strong understanding of EHS and industry regulatory standards in construction
  • Ability to effectively communicate safety principles and regulations

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus, not required
  • OSHA outreach training experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Conducting daily safety walks, audits, and hazard recognition
  • Leading safety meetings, toolbox talks, and employee orientations
