About The Position

We are seeking to add a Safety Manager to our growing and talented Design-Build Company. This position requires the individual to be construction minded, a strong communicator, and safety focused. The Safety Manager will support and advance the company's zero-incident culture by ensuring compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards, reducing risk across job sites and fleet operations, and building consistent safety processes across all divisions. This role partners closely with field leadership to proactively identify hazards, improve safety performance, and implement scalable programs that protect employees, subcontractors, and the business.

Requirements

  • This position requires regular travel.
  • Bachelor's degree in Safety, Construction Management, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience). OSHA 30 is required; OSHA 500 is preferred.
  • Ability to travel to job sites regularly; valid driver's license required.
  • 1–5 years of relevant safety or construction experience.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA standards and safety best practices.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to influence field personnel and address safety concerns directly and professionally.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities across job sites and operational divisions.
  • Strong ability to train and educate employees and subcontractors on safety standards, policies and best practices.
  • Proficiency in documentation, reporting, and safety compliance tracking.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Support Field Personnel in administering the company's safety program and provide ongoing safety guidance.
  • Manage OSHA compliance, including reporting and job site audits.
  • Investigate accidents and near misses, document findings, report claims, and implement corrective actions based on root cause analysis.
  • Monitor driver behavior using vehicle tracking data and coach employees to improve safe driving habits.
  • Serve as the primary contact for the company's Risk and Safety Consultant and participate in captive insurance risk meetings.
  • Maintain and update safety materials, including JSAs, SDS/MSDS, and the Safety Manual.
  • Conduct regular job site and warehouse inspections; track observations and improvements.
  • Partner with project teams on safety planning, especially for larger or higher-risk projects.
  • Monitor and reinforce toolbox talks and on-site safety meetings.
  • Ensure subcontractor compliance with safety requirements and OSHA standards.
  • Track employee safety certifications (first aid, OSHA, etc.) and promote overall safety awareness.
