Lead and continuously improve the company’s safety program across all sites and functions (production, loading, trucking, maintenance, and office as applicable). Ensure compliance with OSHA and applicable state requirements; support DOT/FMCSA compliance for commercial drivers and fleet operations where applicable. Conduct scheduled and unscheduled site audits; issue corrective actions, assign owners, and track closure to completion. Lead incident reporting, investigation, root-cause analysis, and corrective action planning; communicate findings to leaders and frontline teams. Develop and deliver safety training (new hire onboarding, refresher training, task-specific training) and maintain accurate training records. Support safe operation of mobile equipment and yard/plant processes (e.g., front-end loaders, skid steers, forklifts, conveyors, grinders/screens as applicable) through standards and coaching. Coordinate workers’ compensation claim support with HR and insurance partners, including return-to-work/light duty recommendations and documentation. Maintain and report safety KPIs (TRIR, DART, severity, near-miss reporting, audit scores, corrective action closure rates) and present monthly dashboards to leadership.
