About The Position

The Safety Manager is responsible for leading and administering the organization's health and safety programs to ensure a safe working environment for all employees. This individual will develop, implement, and continuously improve safety initiatives, policies, and procedures while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role requires a hands-on leader who can build strong relationships throughout the operation, proactively identify risks, investigate incidents, and foster a culture where safety is embedded in daily activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Safety, or a related discipline preferred.
  • 5+ years of safety leadership experience within manufacturing, industrial, construction, distribution, or similar operational environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Ability to influence employees and leaders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and training facilitation skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certifications such as CSP, ASP, OHST, OSHA 30, or similar credentials are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain workplace safety programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct routine facility inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Lead incident, accident, and near-miss investigations, including root cause analysis and implementation of preventative measures.
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs, including new employee orientation, annual training requirements, and task-specific instruction.
  • Maintain current knowledge of safety regulations, industry best practices, and emerging compliance requirements.
  • Track, analyze, and report safety metrics to leadership, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Facilitate safety committee meetings and collaborate with operations, maintenance, and leadership teams to address concerns and improve performance.
  • Maintain accurate records related to training, inspections, incidents, corrective actions, and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and coordinate emergency response procedures, evacuation plans, drills, and preparedness initiatives.
  • Promote employee engagement and accountability related to workplace safety initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts focused on reducing risk and improving overall safety performance.
