About The Position

Sheakley is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to provide full-time, on-site safety leadership for a large-scale data center construction project in Lancaster, Texas. This is a high-visibility field position supporting a fast-paced, mission-critical construction environment with multiple trades and subcontractors operating simultaneously. The Safety Manager will oversee daily site safety activities, identify and address hazards, reinforce project requirements, and help ensure work is completed safely and efficiently. A major focus of this position will be the proper implementation and enforcement of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures. The selected professional must be comfortable monitoring high-risk construction activities, addressing noncompliance in real time, and collaborating with project leadership to resolve safety concerns before they result in incidents.

Requirements

  • Previous experience serving as a Safety Manager on construction projects
  • Demonstrated experience implementing and monitoring Lockout/Tagout procedures
  • Strong knowledge of construction hazards, risk mitigation, and incident prevention
  • Experience conducting jobsite inspections, audits, and incident investigations
  • Ability to work extended hours and demanding project schedules when required
  • Strong communication, leadership, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with multiple trades, subcontractors, and project stakeholders
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be able to perform frequent site walks and inspections throughout the workday
  • Must be comfortable working in an active construction environment
  • Must be capable of addressing unsafe work practices professionally and decisively
  • Must demonstrate a strong commitment to accountability, prevention, and continuous improvement

Nice To Haves

  • Previous data center or mission-critical construction experience
  • Experience supporting large-scale industrial or technically complex construction projects
  • Familiarity with high-volume jobsites involving multiple contractors and concurrent operations

Responsibilities

  • Provide visible, hands-on safety leadership throughout the jobsite
  • Monitor daily construction activities for compliance with project policies and applicable safety requirements
  • Conduct routine site inspections, safety audits, and hazard assessments
  • Identify unsafe conditions and behaviors, then coordinate timely corrective actions
  • Oversee the implementation and enforcement of Lockout/Tagout procedures
  • Lead site safety orientations, toolbox talks, and safety meetings
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, property damage, and reported safety concerns
  • Prepare and maintain required safety documentation, reports, and inspection records
  • Coordinate with project management, subcontractors, supervisors, and field personnel
  • Support planning for high-risk and critical construction activities
  • Reinforce accountability while promoting a proactive, prevention-focused safety culture
  • Recommend improvements to strengthen overall site safety performance
