About The Position
The Summer 2027 Safety Internship at Westlake Chemical is designed to provide safety/environmental students with real-life work experience and training in the day-to-day activities of plant manufacturing. This program is part of Westlake's Company College Recruiting strategy to attract and retain qualified, high-performing talent for early career opportunities within their plant locations. Requirements
- Must have completed first year of college
- Must be an active student
- Must be majoring in Health, Safety & Environmental
- Must have a 3.0 or higher GPA
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship

Responsibilities
- Work on assigned projects with the close supervision of mentor/supervisor
- Observe activities of the assigned department/unit
- Assist mentor/supervisor in day-to-day tasks
- Actively participate in complex safety/environmental programs
- Maintain intern work/activity journal
- Presentation to management team
