About The Position

The Safety & Environmental Manager will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Local, State, and Federal EHS regulations. This role involves providing ongoing support, leadership, and guidance to achieve and maintain Star status under OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Program. The position requires developing and implementing safety policies, conducting training, and working with personnel to identify hazards, investigate incidents, and conduct plant safety inspections. Additionally, the role involves managing permitting, sampling, and waste manifests, and traveling regionally as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring compliance with Local, State and Federal EHS regulations.
  • Ensuring OSHA, EPA and TCEQ guidelines are met and all documentation is prepared and stored for the required timeframe.
  • Providing ongoing support, leadership and guidance and direct effort to achieve and maintain Star status under OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Program.
  • Developing, implementing and maintaining Safety & Health Policies, Plans and Procedures.
  • Conducting new employee safety orientation training.
  • Conducting periodic/annual training courses regarding specific safety issues relevant to the work environment.
  • Providing ongoing support to facility personnel and leadership in the identification of workplace hazards, reporting and investigation of incidents.
  • Working with department supervision to conduct incident investigations in a thorough and timely manner to determine root cause and prevention.
  • Conducting frequent plant safety inspections and observing workers for safe and unsafe behaviors.
  • Developing, maintaining and reporting on key safety performance indicators.
  • Scheduling and coordinating required monitoring and sampling pursuant to Facility Industrial Hygiene/Environmental factors (air quality, noise, etc.).
  • Managing local and state permitting, sampling requirements and waste manifests, including experience with SDCP, Title V and IWW Permitting.
  • Traveling regionally as needed.
  • Abiding by all policies and procedures established by the Company.
  • Meeting attendance requirements.
