Requirements

• At least two years of safety experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Extensive knowledge of security protocols and emergency preparedness.
• Extensive knowledge of company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) standards.
• Ability to conduct training.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
• Ability to interact with the team in a fast-paced environment, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient.

• Excellent verbal and written interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing OSHA and DOT compliance for Rural King supply chain.
• Partnering with operations to develop a safe and clean working environment for all associates.
• Make a meaningful impact and drive positive change in the lives of our customers and the communities we serve.
• Apply a positive and enthusiastic approach to customer service while maintaining professionalism and a friendly demeanor.

• Provide friendly, proactive, and professional internal and external customer support while assisting with inquiries, concerns, and issues promptly and effectively.
• Actively participate in learning initiatives such as training programs, workshops, and seminars. Leverage these opportunities to acquire new knowledge, refine existing skills, and stay current on the latest developments.
• Collaborates with management to develop, prepare, and implement safety and security policies and procedures.
• Coordinates the safety and security programs to promote and ensure a safe working environment.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of safety and security programs.
• Reviews current safety training and recommends revisions, improvements, and updates.
• Submits recommendations for improvements and additions to the safety management program including emergency preparedness, accident prevention, general safety, and risk management.
• Stops operations and activities that could harm staff or equipment.
• Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.
• Shares environmental safety information with appropriate levels in the organization.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
