About The Position

As Safety Coordinator at a Modigent operating company, you will play a critical role in promoting and maintaining a strong safety culture across field operations, job sites, and facilities. You will support the implementation of safety programs, conduct site inspections, assist with training, and help ensure compliance with OSHA, company policies, and industry best practices in commercial HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical services environments.

Requirements

  • 2–5+ years of safety experience in construction, mechanical trades, or a related industry.
  • Prior field experience in HVAC, plumbing, or mechanical systems is preferred.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience considered.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification required.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to walk active construction sites, climb ladders, and work in various field conditions.
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence field teams.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with safety management software a plus.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional certifications (e.g., CSP, CHST, First Aid/CPR) a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular job site safety inspections, audits, and observations; document findings and track corrective actions.
  • Assist with the development, implementation, and enforcement of company safety policies and procedures.
  • Support new-hire safety orientation and ongoing safety training for field personnel.
  • Investigate incidents, near-misses, and property damage; prepare reports and recommend preventive measures.
  • Maintain safety records, documentation, and reporting requirements (OSHA logs, training records, etc.).
  • Participate in pre-job planning, safety meetings, and toolbox talks with field teams.
  • Monitor compliance with personal protective equipment (PPE), fall protection, lockout/tagout, and other critical safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, foremen, and workers to address safety concerns and promote safe work practices.
  • Assist with subcontractor safety coordination and pre-qualification processes.
  • Stay current on safety regulations and industry standards; support continuous improvement of the safety program.
