About The Position

As the Safety Coordinator at SnackCraft, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations in the workplace. You will ensure that all safety procedures are followed and that all employees are properly trained in safety protocols and have expertise in safety regulations. This role requires a deep understanding of OSHA regulations and to be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will have a passion for safety and a commitment to creating and maintaining a safe working environment for all SnackCraft employees.

Requirements

  • 3 plus years of experience in a safety-related role
  • Experience with PowerPoint, Excel and auditor safety software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and presentation.
  • Understanding of federal, state and city safety requirements, including OSHA
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at the same time while meeting deadlines.
  • Interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish effective professional relationships with employees and project managers.
  • Leadership skills, such as the ability to motivate a team and provide feedback.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more with assistance.
  • Must be willing and able to wear personal protective equipment as required by established Company Safety standards.

Nice To Haves

  • A bachelor’s degree in health and safety or a related field may be preferred.
  • Knowledge of food grade materials for manufacturing components for food processing and/or manufacturing equipment preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills.
  • May require work at heights.

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement safety plans while ensuring that they are being followed daily
  • Conduct safety observation reports on a regular basis, depending on the length of the project.
  • Attend safety walks and inspections before or during each project to analyze safety risks.
  • Educate employees on safety standards and expectations as well as safe machinery operation.
  • Provide recommendations for improving safety in the workplace.
  • Investigate accidents that occur onsite and identify possible causes of the accident.
  • Maintain documentation of the company’s safety procedures, accidents, and related events.
  • Responsible for following all food safety policies, procedures and regulatory criteria including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
  • Manage Safety Budget
  • Manage Combustible Dust Monthly Training Programs/ Sessions
  • Manage Fall Protection
  • Manage LOTO- Training, written procedures, periodic inspections
  • Manage Environmental Compliance
  • Manage Forklift and Airel Lift Training
  • Other duties as assigned.
