We are currently looking for an experienced and driven Safety & Compliance Manager to join our Transportation team. Reporting to the Vice President of Transportation, the Safety & Compliance Manager will lead all aspects of transportation safety, fleet compliance, regulatory reporting, insurance and claims management, and driver training initiatives across a multi-terminal operation supporting approximately 200+ assets. This role plays a critical part in maintaining compliance with provincial, federal, and U.S. transportation regulations while promoting a proactive safety culture and supporting operational efficiency through data-driven decision-making.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in transportation safety, compliance, or fleet management
Strong working knowledge of MTO, CVOR, DOT, SMS, IFTA, and Hours of Service regulations
Experience developing and facilitating training programs and safety initiatives
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Experience managing insurance claims and regulatory audits
Strong analytical and reporting capabilities

Nice To Haves

Experience with transportation systems such as TMW, Samsara, or ELD platforms preferred
AZ license considered an asset

Responsibilities

Lead and promote a strong culture of safety across all transportation operations
Develop and deliver driver onboarding, refresher training, corrective coaching, and safety programs
Monitor driver performance through telematics, dashcams, and compliance reporting tools
Conduct accident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation
Ensure compliance with MTO, CVOR, DOT, SMS, IFTA, Hours of Service, and ELD regulations
Oversee vehicle registrations, permits, licensing, and preventive maintenance compliance
Manage insurance claims, freight claims, and loss prevention initiatives
Develop and track fleet performance KPIs, including safety, fuel efficiency, maintenance compliance, and claims trends
Maintain audit readiness and support regulatory and customer audits
Develop policies, SOPs, and training materials aligned with industry best practices
